New Play Reading Series
Each year, the Pittsburgh New Works Festival receives hundreds of new plays that eventually get narrowed down to the 18 that are produced as LabWorks or Main Stage productions after rounds of critique, scoring and board review.
The production companies select these plays from a pool of ~40 finalists. We thought it was only right for those plays that were deemed worthy of production but were just not selected by a company to get their chance to be performed by some fantastic local actors. This also gives the playwrights an opportunity to hear their work performed for an audience and gather some feedback. We present these readings throughout the year in locations all over the Pittsburgh region. Join us for a great night of theatre, refreshments and snacks! All performances are pay what you like at the door.
