Where do I park? How much does parking cost?

Free parking is available in a large municipal lot across the street from the theater and on-street parking is free during performances.


Are there handling fees for tickets purchased to New Works shows?

Yes, New Works charges different handling fees based on your ticket delivery method. Print-at-Home Our fastest and easiest delivery option is “Print at Home.” If you order tickets online, this option will send you a PDF version of your tickets directly to your email address. You can then print out your tickets before attending the show. There is a handling fee that works out to be around $1 per ticket for Print at Home tickets. Will Call If you prefer to pick up your tickets at the Will Call table prior to your performance, choose “Will Call” as your delivery method. There is a handling fee that works out to be around $1 per ticket for tickets picked up at the Box Office Will Call table. Purchased in Person at the Box Office Window Tickets purchased at the Box Office do not include an additional handling fee, but are priced higher than tickets purchased in advance.


What happens if I’m late to a show?

To cause the least amount of disruption to the performance and to other patrons, if you arrive late you’ll be seated at the discretion of the house manager.


Is the theater accessible to persons with disabilities?

Yes Carnegie Stage is fully accessible to persons with disabilities. If you require wheelchair-accessible and/or companion seating, please contact us at accessibility@pittsburghnewworks.org or by phone at 412-944-2NEW (2639).


Does the theater have listening devices?

Yes!  Please ask for a device at the box office.


When are post-show mingles?

Post-show mingles are a chance to meet the cast and crew over free food and beverages.  They happen in the lobby immediately following all Thursday evening performances.


May I bring my children to the theater?

New Works offers a wide range of programming, and the age-appropriateness varies. Most of New Work’s shows are appropriate for teens. If you have questions about the age-appropriateness of any show, please contact us at info@pittsburghnewworks or call 412-944-2NEW (2639).


What’s your policy on cameras, beepers and cell phones in the theater?

Cameras are not permitted in the theater. The ringing of a cell phone or beeper can be quite distracting for both the audience and the performers. If you bring a cell phone or beeper into the theater, please turn it off before the performance begins. If you must use your cell phone at intermission, please remember to turn it off before re-entering the theater.


Do all shows have an intermission?

There will be 1 -2 intermissions during the evening, depending upon the length of the individual plays.  Intermission information will be announced during the curtain speech.


What is the dress code at the Pittsburgh New Works Festival?

At a New Works performance, you’ll see all sorts of dress—from elegant cocktail attire to business casual to jeans. The rule of thumb is, wear what makes you feel most comfortable.
